The roster does not get used to set the from address, it's just what
the originating mail client set in the first place, so for example
your mail client sets the from address to:

Martin McClure <martin.mcclure at gemstone.com>

So we see your name when the message is set out by the list server and
in the list archive.  If we look at Danny Reinhold's recent post,
though, we do not see his name in the message from address or in the
archive even though I can reveal that he *does* have his name in the
roster.

Clear as mud, eh?
