I think this is a misunderstanding, and a
mis-characterization of what I've said.
I never proposed we should discuss adding #<- as
part of the Smalltalk Standard (library).
In contrast I was saying that because anybody can
define #<- on their own, on top of any *major Smalltalk*,
there is no critical need for any new non-de-facto
standard for the Array / Collection syntax.
Therefore you are probably right that "it is not appropriate
to discuss" whether #<- should be included in the Smalltalk
Standard at this time.
But I also believe we shouldn't discuss too much about what
should be discussed, and what not. We shouldn't call each
others' proposals "inappropriate", or even "ugly" easily.
Let's welcome all proposals at this time. Let politeness rule,
in order for the best ideas to come forward, and for some
work to get done.

P.S. For the record, I support { } for dynamic arrays. But I'm not
sure if that should be included as part of the standard level 1.0.
