We need to encourage people with ideas to take the lead in producing a
STEP and such documents should be discussed much as we are discussing
things now. Of course shooting the breeze is OK too, but it'll be
STEPs by which we measure our success
Each STEP should be sized so it can be discussed and treated (voted
on, adopted etc.) as a unit.
... then perhaps we need some kind of scale for STEPs which are
adopted. At one end is: "if a Smalltalk dialect does not support this
then it's not really Smalltalk" and at the other is "if you really
want to do this kind of thing, then this is how it should be done, but
don't expect this in every dialect.".
