I'll second the nomination of John for this role. When I was
implementing DateAndTime>>#printOn: in GemStone/S, I found that
VA Smalltalk failed one of my new tests (I tried my tests on several
dialects). The Standard explicitly calls for a space at the beginning
if the year is positive but after investigating further, I decided to
follow VA Smalltalk (which excludes the space) and included the
comment, "but see VAST which makes a case that the space should be
excluded."<br>
