[openskills-dev] Locations in the SkillsBase

I will soon be releasing the first SkillsBase version to support a
location tree.

You may wish to back up the current state of your resume to HR-XML. If
so, just go to the HR-XML tab and use "Export HR-XML".

The changes to the model to support locations are complete. The UI has
support for most things, but there are some gaps. Here are the bits
that work:

o You can say where you would like to work and people searching the
SkillsBase can use this preference as a criteria in their searches.

o You can say where you may work (e.g. where you are a citizen or have a
visa). Searchers can limit results to only those who currently may work
in a particular location.

o You can say where you worked on a particular engagement. This
information is held in the model but is not currently presented in the
engagement summary on your My Resume page or in the search results.

o As with the skills tree, members may add new nodes (locations) to the
tree as needed. Guests and subscribers should post to the
openskills-dev list if they need a new location and a member will add it
for them.

The new version of the system will be moved into production at about
16:00 GMT on Tuesday 14th August.

I will be updating the wiki with details of the release.

If you have any questions, please post them here.

All the best,
Make the most of your skills
